The HarmonKnights are an outgrowth of the Knights of Columbus council 7969 in Stoney Creek, ON, since their founding in 1984. The HarmonKnights have since performed well over 400 concerts, mainly in nursing homes and retirement residences.
Originally started by three harmonica players (hence the origin of their name, along with the fact that they sometime sing in harmony), the group today consists of 13 active members as well as several occasional members.
Over the years, more members and instruments were implemented, including the banjo, kazoo, accordion, guitar, and keyboard.
After their concerts, the members take the opportunity to greet and mingle with audience.
The HarmonKnights are always looking for new members to join their chorus. Anyone in the Hamilton area wishing to have a performance by the HarmonKnights or wishing to join, can contact St. Francis Xavier's Parish Office at (905)662-8593 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org
A highlight of the festive season for the HarmonKnights is their annual performance at 'Project Christmas", which is an initial of council 7969 that aids underprivileged families in the area.
