The Knights of Columbus is the world's largest Catholic fraternal service organization. Founded by Father Michael J. McGivney in New Haven, Connecticut, in 1882. The order was named in honor of the mariner Christopher Columbus and is guided by the principles of Charity, Unity, and Fraternity.

Father Gerald M. Warren Knights of Columbus Council 7969 is located at St. Francis Xavier parish in Stoney Creek, Ontario. The council was founded in 1982 and since then has grown in leaps and bounds.
Rev Fr. Gerald M. Warren served the Hamilton Diocese for his entire life as a priest. He was an associate pastor of St.Augustine’s Parish in Dundas and at the Cathedral of Christ the King, while he served as secretary to Bishop Ryan for ten years. He was appointed Pastor of St.Francis Xavier Parish in Stoney Creek where he oversaw the construction of the present church complex, as well as several grade schools to accommodate a rapidly growing parish.
After 29 years at St.Francis Xavier, Fr.Warren was appointed Pastor of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, where he served the final ten years of his priesthood prior to retirement.
Fr.Warren was a separate school trustee for many years. He was honored in 1982 when the Knights of Columbus council in Stoney Creek was named after him.
General council meetings are held on the 1st Wednesday of the month (September - June) at 7:30pm at St. Francis Xavier Parish, at 304 Highway #8 in Stoney Creek, Ontario.
